Cleaning and descaling of condenser tubes

Absorption chillers, like any cooling system, require preventive maintenance and cleaning. Over time, the condenser tubes will become fouled with different types of depsoits, such as: algae, sludge, mud, biological buildup, and (light) limescale.

Goodway Benelux supplies equipment and accessories to clean the condenser tubes safely, effectively and quickly. In addition to mechanical cleaning with rotating brushes, it is also possible to circulate a cleaning agent (descaler) through the condenser tubes. This method is often used when limescale deposits are present, because this is generally a harder substance and is more difficult to remove with brushes.

Cleaning-In-Place (CIP)

In many cases it is possible to clean the condenser tubes of absorption chillers using the CIP (clean-in-place) procedure. With this technique, a descaling pump system is used to circulate a cleaning agent (descaler) through the condenser tubes. A CIP is a very simple and effective technique, especially for a preventive cleaning and maintenance program.
