SGB Tube Cleaning Brushes
SGBs are the most widely used brushes from Goodway. This is because they are very effective and universal brushes. In fact, you can cover a range of 10-30 millimeters with just 4 SGB brushes. Furthermore, these brushes are made of nylon, making them suitable for virtually any tube material.
Applications within the HVAC
SGB brushes are commonly used for the following systems/installations:
- Watercooled condensers/chillers.
- Process heat-exchangers (often found within the petrochemical/process industry).
- Tubes of an Air fin cooler.
- Evaporator tubes of Aircooled Chillers.
Silicon carbide coating
SGB brushes have nylon bristles that have a silicon carbide coating. This gives them a number of significant advantages over other types of brushes:
- Longer/enhanced lifetime - Less susceptible to wear.
- Increased cleaning effect - more friction is created by oversized brushes.
The brushes are always used oversized, thus creating more friction in the tube, which further increases the cleaning effect. Also due to the increased friction, it is possible to remove heavier types of pollution, such as: (light) scaling. Furthermore, the oversized effect allows the brush to not only clean more, but also give off a polishing effect.

Coupling / Connecting the tube cleaning brushes
SGB brushes can be supplied in standard threading, as well as quick-connect. The normal threaded connection is simple and straightforward and is often used when working with a machine like the AWT-100X. This is because this machine can only turn clockwise. If another system, such as the RAM-PRO is used, we always recommend a quick-connect coupling. By using this quick-connect coupling, it is possible to rotate both left and right. This increases the cleaning effect and reduces the cleaning time.
